Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on that part of the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. People who don't understand about the place mistakenly think that the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact, this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel was a young woman living in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. At the beginning of her life she wanted to be professional performer, however an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as 6 foot 1 inches tall. As I grew older than my male companions, I quit. A lot of former dancers go on into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was a nudge from an instructor in drama at high school which led her in the right direction. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school production. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. In the 20+ years since Brugel has landed roles in more than 60 productions on both small and large screens drawing the most interest when she was offered the role in the role of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel played the role of Rita in the Handmaid's Tale the series filmed over ten years ago.
